How to Use QR Codes for Maintenance Assets
A maintenance QR code should shorten the route from the physical machine to the correct digital record. The label is useful only if it survives the environment and opens a safe, current destination.Choose the destination
Decide whether scanning should open an asset record, a protected maintenance request form or another controlled page. Do not encode confidential asset details directly in the QR image.
Generate and print consistently

Control the lifecycle
Include QR checks in asset audits. When equipment is replaced, decide whether the new unit retains the functional asset identity or receives a new record. Remove or invalidate labels for decommissioned equipment.
